Exploitation of shallow ground and its low-grade heat potential is fundamental to designing 5th generation district heating cooling (DHC) networks. Horizontal ground-source pump (HGSHP) systems are a common way utilize geothermal energy. Realistic estimation prediction performance HGSHP system thermal behaviour should consider the whole including building load, exchanger, ground. This be accompanied by realistic atmospheric conditions. In this paper, three-dimensional coupled thermal–hydraulic model with boundary conditions adopting approach presented. Dynamic coefficient (COP) that depends on seasonal variation heating/cooling demand also considered. Model validations conducted against experimental analytical results in literatures.
